On Nov. 23, Good Karma Pet Rescue of South Florida announced that the organization is helping a senior dog found abandoned and in need outside a pet store.

An animal shelter has started a foster search hoping to find a temporary home for a rescued pup.
Good Karma Pet Rescue is asking if anyone can take in Milo, a beagle mix found trapped in a canal in Fort Lauderdale over a week ago.
The shelter said the good Samaritan who rescued Milo can no longer keep him, and now they’re looking for a new home for the dog.
Milo will soon be vaccinated, neutered and microchipped so he can be fostered into a home and hopefully adopted.

Days after rescuing a dog spotted struggling to swim in a Fort Lauderdale canal, the animal’s rescuers are hoping to track down his owner.
Geraldine Campbell, a good Samaritan who helped the dog, spotted the 1-year-old male just barely keeping its head above water in a canal off Seabreeze Boulevard, late Sunday night.
“I didn’t know it was a dog, I was just like, ‘What are they all looking at?’ And then I see a head, and then I’m like, ‘What are we looking at?'” she said. “And then we realized it was a dog at some point, because we could see him a little bit closer, and clearly, he’s not supposed to be in the water, and he was looking to get out.”

North Lauderdale cat dies after swallowing toxic substance
A cat has died after swallowing a toxic substance in North Lauderdale.
The feline passed away at Plantation Midtown Animal Hospital at around 9:30 p.m., Wednesday.
Her name was Sprout, and she was kept comfortable on her last day under a blanket hooked up to an IV.
“She has muscle tremors, she’s very lethargic, she’s not able to sit up or eat,” said veterinarian Marissa Sloan.

South Florida Organization Rescues 5 Dogs From Meat Market In China
After more than two days of traveling, five dogs arrived in South Florida to get a second chance at life. This was thanks to the work of a rescue group who saved the pups from a meat market in China.
Before the sun was up Saturday morning, Good Karma Pet Rescue of South Florida was already at work.
Five dogs endured a long journey, making their way from China to the Miami International Airport.
"Five lives were spared today, and now we are going to get them amazing homes," said Deven Soto, with Good Karma.
Dogs saved from Chinese meat trade arrive in South Florida
LAUDERHILL, FLA. (WSVN) - A group of dogs that were saved from the meat trade overseas were given a warm welcome by volunteers after they touched down in South Florida, and their arrival was made possible thanks to a local animal rights group.
Cameras captured veterinarians greeting the five new four-legged residents in Lauderhill, Sunday.
The dogs are getting the “ulti-mutt” new start, thanks in part to the tireless efforts of the animal rescue group.
