United in hurricane disaster: Dog, cat and bunny arrive in South Florida from the Bahamas
She’s emaciated, dehydrated and probably sad.
A street dog nicknamed “Bahama Momma” was one of three animals to arrive at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Sunday night on a rescue flight from the hurricane-battered Abaco Islands in the Bahamas.
The other two animals on the flight chartered by the Fort Lauderdale-based Good Karma Pet Rescue were a cat and a rabbit.

In response to conditions a local animal rescue founder called “torture,” a Broward County animal rescue organization has joined with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, a Loxahatchee Groves-based animal rescue organization.
Good Karma Pet Rescue of Fort Lauderdale announced the partnership in a statement on June 21, the first day the ninth annual Lychee and Dog Meat Festival, also called the Yulin Dog Meat Festival.
