DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT: You will often times be asked to drop off your pet. Please drop off on time. Call to confirm pickup time. Don’t forget your orange folder. At pickup, please take the time to make sure you either get a printout of what was done, that the staff write in your orange folder, or you can ask what was done so you can write it in the folder. When in doubt, have them make a copy of the record for that visit.  And always ask for any medications in case they forget to give you them.

SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES

  • CAT NEUTER (male): minimum age 8 weeks/3 lbs minimum
    CAT SPAY (female): minimum age 8 weeks/3 lbs minimum

  • DOG SPAY/NEUTERS: over 8 weeks for large breed and over 12 weeks for miniature breeds

  • PRE-OP INSTRUCTIONS: Do not give any food or water after midnight the night before the surgery. AMC will provide post-op instructions.

  • SHELTER ANIMAL? Please make sure you bring the spay/neuter release with you for the veterinarian to sign for us to return to the shelter.

  • NO OVERNIGHTS: Animals CANNOT stay overnight so you need to make sure you pick up when advised.

  • SHELTER/CONTAGIOUS PETS: If you are bringing in a shelter pet, please advise them when are you making the appointment so they can take the appropriate precautions when you arrive to isolate them.

  • NO ISOLATION: Means no parvo or panleukopenia.

  • DENTALS: Yes, will do dentals. Cannot do dental x-rays.

SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES

Just Paws can do our spay/neuter surgeries with MANAGER APPROVAL ONLY. You need to get approval from Shannon Battel to schedule there; the front desk staff will NOT schedule with you unless they have prior approval.

  • CAT NEUTER (male): minimum age 12 weeks
    CAT SPAY (female): minimum age 16 weeks

  • DOG SPAY/NEUTER: minimum age 16 weeks, possibly sooner if large breed
