LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCIES
Examples of life-threatening emergency:
Hit by car
Cool to the touch (very low body temp)
If you believe your foster is having a life-threatening medical emergency, go to the closest open veterinary medical provider. It is a good idea to have a few regular- and after-hours veterinarians in your phone in case of emergency. As soon as you can, advise your Foster Mentor. If your Foster Mentor is unavailable, please call the emergency line 754-264-8688.
NON LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCIES
Examples of a non-life-threatening emergency:
Pet not acting “normal”
Lower-than-normal body temp
Pet not eating
